Historical Events of Whitehall, MT

Indigenous Tribes' Presence
Indigenous tribes, including the Bannock, Shoshone, Crow, Nez Perce, and Blackfeet, used the Jefferson River Valley for hunting and travel
Lewis and Clark Expedition
The Corps of Discovery, led by Lewis and Clark, passed near what is now Whitehall while exploring the Jefferson River in late July 1805.
